  • A $15 million renovation of the Hyatt Regency Suites Palm Springs debuted in December. Each of its renovated 197 suites boasts a minimum of 606 square feet and includes a private balcony and two 42-inch LCD televisions. The property also added three new meeting rooms and enhanced its current meeting and banquet facilities, bringing the total to more than 12,000 square feet of event space.   • The historic Los Angeles Athletic Club (LAAC) recently unveiled a multimillion-dollar hotel renovation. The Hotel at The Los Angeles Athletic Club took the wraps off 72 renovated urban-style hotel rooms and suites. Each room features flat-screen televisions, wireless Internet and original art from the club’s historical vault. The property also offers an 80,000-square-foot fitness facility. Another addition to the LAAC is the third-floor Trophy Room, which serves a dual purpose as a 1,000-bottle wine cellar and private venue for chef tasting dinners.   • Sheraton Hotels & Resorts recently completed a $70 million renovation to the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.   •  Vdara Hotel & Spa opened in December at MGM MIRAGE’s CityCenter complex on the Las Vegas Strip. The non-gaming hotel features 1,495 suites; an 18,000-square-foot spa; the Sky Pool & Lounge, featuring a pool, lounge, cabanas and event space; and more than 10,000 square feet of meeting space. Other venues that debuted at CityCenter in December include the Aria Resort & Casino, with 4,004 guest rooms including 568 suites, 300,000 square feet of meeting space, the Spa at Aria, three pools with 50 cabanas and 16 restaurants.
