MPI is supporting a number of agencies involved in the Haitian relief program. Among those the association has listed as “confirmed legitimate” are The American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres and The Salvation Army. The MPI Foundation is also donating $5,000 to aid relief efforts.
Additionally, the MPI Montreal Chapter has pledged to match dollar for dollar, up to $5,000, any donation made via its website. The money is targeted for the Red Cross. The deadline to donate is Jan. 31. Montreal has the largest Haitian community in Canada, with more than 100,000 people.
