The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, Nev., will shut its doors May 2, according to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Deutsche Bank took over ownership of the property last year through a subsidiary named Village Hospitality and decided to stop funding the resort.
“The entire Las Vegas region has been financially impacted, probably more than any other region in the United States,” said Vivian Deuschl, corporate vice president of Ritz-Carlton, which operates the hotel. She noted a drop in individual visitors and an even bigger decline in group business.
The hotel is one of eight Southern Nevada hotels with AAA’s highest five-diamond rating for 2010. All three golf courses at the property have been shut down during the resort’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
