Pick Three - Charlotte

Karen Spratt
President; Innovative Special Events; Charlotte, N.C.

What are three hot restaurant experiences you would recommend for groups meeting in Charlotte?

  • Sonoma Modern American: Sonoma Modern American owner Pierre Bader is flexible and accommodating, and his restaurant offers a superior product. Sonoma Modern American has a well-qualified chef and an attentive, professional staff who know how to work effectively with the planner and please the client. Sonoma Modern American’s cuisine has a California style, and the menu changes frequently. Menu offerings include organic and locally grown herbs and vegetables, Angus beef, free-range poultry, seafood and seasonal specials. I have held group events in this restaurant ranging from 25 to 130 attendees.
  • Blue Restaurant and Bar: Blue Restaurant and Bar owner Alex Myrick has created quite a niche with his cosmopolitan restaurant offering interesting, exquisitely prepared Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant staff is well trained and knows the importance of good service. The bar is a spacious and lively area, has room for staging entertainment and works well for pre- and post-dinner gatherings. The restaurant can comfortably seat more than 150 people, is well appointed and beautifully lit. Blue Restaurant & Bar also has an event room that works well for smaller groups up to 40.
  • Zebra Restaurant & Wine Bar: Located a short distance from the uptown area is Zebra Restaurant & Wine Bar in South Park. Zebra owner and executive chef Jim Alexander is a true pleasure to work with and is known throughout the city for his outstanding contemporary French cuisine and artistic culinary creations. The restaurant is intimate and seats approximately 80 for groups.
