Team San Jose, San Jose, Calif.’s CVB, modified the labor policy at the McEnery Center on an interim basis.
Team San Jose, which runs the convention center, announced it would allow trade show contractors to deal directly with local labor unions. Some will negotiate directly with Teamsters Local 287, while others will use Teamsters Local 85, with whom they already have contracts.
“This interim solution is a good step forward for San Jose and the decorating community to continue discussions that will support both decorators and San Jose clients,” said Dan Fenton, CEO of Team San Jose. “Our mutual goals include increasing customer service, adding local jobs and supporting flexibility.”
