The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto (800.542.8680; www.ritzcarlton.com) is scheduled to debut this summer. Rising 53 floors, the 267-room hotel will offer a 7,400-square-foot luxury ballroom, a 3,000-square-foot junior ballroom, generous prefunction space and two individual meeting rooms.
The 60-story, 260-room Trump International Hotel and Tower (416.214.2800; www.trumptoronto.ca) is slated to open in 2011 with 261 guest rooms.
The boutique Hotel Le Germain (418.687.1123; www.hotelboutique.com) is scheduled to open this summer as part of the $500 million Maple Leaf Square (416.601.6885; www.mapleleafsquare.com), a sports and entertainment complex. The hotel will feature 171 guest rooms, a spa and several meeting rooms. The complex has direct indoor access to Air Canada Centre and Union Station.
Boutique brand Thompson Hotels will make its first international foray with the anticipated spring 2010 debut of the Thompson Toronto (212.204.6465;www.thompsonhotels.com). Set on 16 glass-clad floors, the 102-room hotel will feature 30,000 square feet of dining and event space, including a signature restaurant. A rooftop infinity pool and bar will overlook Toronto’s Fashion and Design District and eastern skyline. An outdoor skating rink is also planned.
Opened in September 2009, the 100-room Radisson Plaza Mississauga Toronto Airport (905.364.9999; www.radisson.com/torontoca_mississaugaair) offers conference facilities such as the Top Glass Room and 3,500-square-foot Terrace Garden; a multitiered theater/presentation room; and the Grand Victorian Ballroom, featuring 24 crystal chandeliers.
The 1,590-room Delta Chelsea Hotel (416.595.1975; www.deltachelsea.com), Canada’s largest hotel, is undergoing a $6.5 million renovation this spring. The property will fully renovate its 271 Delta rooms, corridors and Market Garden restaurant, and replace its lobby furniture.
Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel (416.361.1000; www.sheratontoronto.com) recently completed a renovation and expansion that included enhancements throughout the property, including the redesign of its 1,377 guest rooms and suites, and the addition of a new ballroom and exhibit hall. The hotel now offers nearly 117,000 square feet of meeting space.
Located 20 minutes from downtown and the airport, The Westin Prince, Toronto (416.444.2511; www.westin.com/prince) recently completed $1.5 million in enhancements, including Wi-Fi connections throughout the hotel and five new modern boardrooms.
Cambridge Suites Hotel, Toronto (416.368.1990; www.cambridgesuitestoronto.com), with 3,200 square feet of meeting space, recently finished a $4 million renovation, including a contemporary redesign of its 229 suites and a $1 million facelift of its Portico restaurant.
A short drive from Pearson International Airport, the 60,000-square-foot Pearson Convention Centre (905.494.0444; www.pearsonconvention.com), accommodating groups up to 2,000, announced plans to add a state-of-the-art hotel in the near future.
