What are three unexpected venues you would recommend for off-site events in the Boston area?

  • Harry Parker Boathouse: The new Harry Parker Boathouse at Community Rowing is one of the newest stars in the constellation of Boston event sites. A working boathouse located about 15 to 20 minutes outside downtown Boston, it is architecturally stunning with balconies that overlook the water and windows that frame the sunset. The 150-degree view of the Charles River is memorable. It was recently recognized by the Boston Globe as Boston’s best new building.
  • WGBH Studios: WGBH’s state-of-the-art studios, theater, atrium and boardrooms are available for private rentals and offer an unusual backdrop for meetings and off-site events reachable in 15 minutes from the heart of Boston. Boston magazine calls the facility, which opened in 2007, the city’s “most exciting company headquarters since the John Hancock Tower,” and the Boston Globe says it’s “a visual landmark to match the importance of WGBH as a cultural institution.”
  • MIT Museum: This is a quirky and fun site for smaller meetings and events, located in Cambridge just across the Charles River from the heart of Boston. Innovative exhibits change regularly and include the world’s largest collection of holographic images, the time-stopping stroboscopic photos of legendary MIT professor “Doc” Edgerton and the witty and engaging kinetic sculptures of local artist Arthur Ganson.
