Extensive renovations are under way at Carmel Valley Ranch here.
John Pritzker, the founding partner of San Francisco-based Geolo Capital and son of the late billionaire Hyatt Hotels founder Jay Pritzker, said last summer his company would spend about $25 million to upgrade the property over the next two years.
As part of the changes, Anna Olson was recently named general manager of the resort. Olson joins the resort after a long career at Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in Ojai, Calif., where she had served as general manager since 2001.
“We are transforming Carmel Valley Ranch into a place that goes beyond what people imagine a resort can be,” Pritzker said. “We’ll have all of the traditional resort amenities ‑ a great spa, tennis courts, swimming pools, a Pete Dye golf course ‑ but what sets us apart will be our sense of play.”
