What are three great dining experiences you would recommend for groups meeting on Hilton Head Island?
-
Black Marlin Bayside Grill (843.785.4950; www.blackmarlinhhi.com) is a great place for groups to dine. It is located in the Palmetto Bay Marina, which is one of the least-touristy marinas on the island. It offers a great sunset and some of the best views of the sailboats out on the canal behind the restaurant. The place is really quaint and off the beaten path and offers excellent, fresh seafood. The New York strip and crab legs are very popular, as is the flounder and seafood alfredo. They have private dining areas where groups can enjoy views of the water. It is a great spot.
-
Aqua Grille & Lounge (843.341.3331; www.aquagrilleandlounge.com) is one of the most cosmopolitan restaurants on the island. It has an open room with a two-story waterfall and is located beachside on North Forest Beach Drive. Some of the popular items over there are the king crab, sea bass and filet mignon. Groups can buy out the entire restaurant or just go into one of the several private rooms on-site. The wine cellar accommodates 36 people, the banquet room can hold 125 people, and the lounge can accommodate up to 65 people. They have an open kitchen as well, which brings you into the sound and action of the place. The views are incredible, and it is a lot of fun.
- Charley’s Crab (843.342.9066; www.muer.com) is huge on beef and homemade pastas. The patio overlooks the Intercoastal Waterway and is remarkable for sunsets. They have a private dining room that overlooks the creek and marshes, and outdoor pavilions as well. Some of the best stuff on the menu includes the seafood jambalaya, spiced yellow fin ahi and prime rib. The herbal chicken kebabs and grilled pineapple are also excellent.
