In addition to Hilton Head’s outdoor diversions, the island is also home to a healthy share of cultural attractions. Here are a few places that cater to groups.

Host to a variety of performances, from musicals and comedies to art exhibits, Arts Center of Coastal Carolina (843.842.2787; www.artshhi.com) is a fun place for groups to visit when on Hilton Head Island. The venue offers s 349-seat main theater and two smaller spaces, all available for group rental. The Elizabeth Wallace Theater can seat up to 350 people for lectures and performances, the Rachel & John Jakes Studio Theater can seat 175 people lecture-style and 90 for a sit-down meal, and the Walter Greer Gallery is a nice place for receptions with about 2,000 square feet to work with. The venue also offers three additional meeting rooms as well as outdoor group gathering space.

Opened in 2007, The Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn (843.689.6767; www.coastaldiscovery.org) is designed to teach visitors about South Carolina’s Low Country. The location features historic buildings, salt marshes and open spaces as well as several venues for group rental. The property spans 68 acres and offers a 4,000-square-foot pavilion overlooking Jarvis Creek, an outdoor reception terrace, an exhibit gallery and the Sea Island Room for private events.

Showcasing Hilton Head’s unique marine culture, Harbor Town Lighthouse (843.671.2810; www.harbourtownlighthouse.com) is another popular place for groups to gather. Offering 360-degree views, the striped landmark is available to groups for occasions such as cocktail parties and receptions.
