- St. Augustine’s Lightner Museum started life in 1887 as the Hotel Alcazar, built by railroad magnate Henry Flagler. Today, this palatial property houses Neo-Classic and Gilded Age treasures while groups of up to 400 gather in sumptuous surroundings, including an immense former indoor swimming pool complete with a gently sloping floor.
