What are three great ways for groups to get active in the great outdoors while meeting in Niagara Falls?
- Golfing: The Niagara area boasts over 40 golf courses. One of our favorites is the 45-hole Legends on the Niagara course. With two 18-hole courses and one nine-hole course, there is something for everyone. The modern yet rustic clubhouse has panoramic views of the courses and provides excellent food and beverage for all-day tournaments or an after-tournament meal and celebration.
- Bicycling: My all-time favorite outdoor activity in the Niagara area is cycling. There are over 35 miles of paved pathways on the Niagara River Recreation Trail alone. From there you can explore many historical sites, wineries, restaurants and shops. For adventuresome groups, choose a back country road and climb up the escarpment. Enjoy the well-earned view while sampling the local abundant food. To add to the enjoyment of the outing, our service/emergency van can carry your estate wine and souvenir purchases along the route.
- Exploring Geology: While Niagara Falls is best known for the postcard-perfect falls, there is so much to learn about the 450 million-year-old geology of the area. Start the outing with a helicopter ride over the falls and the Niagara River. Then experience firsthand the history and ecology with a guided hike in the Niagara River Gorge. Expert guides incorporate the geological history, the human history and the unique flora and fauna found in the river valley, the trails and the escarpment for the ultimate ecotourism experience. Lunch can be served at an outdoor picnic site, an estate winery or a local cooking school.
