  • The Art Gallery of Alberta recently opened in a new building in the heart of Edmonton’s Arts District. The building increases the exhibition spaces from 16,000 square feet to 30,000 square feet, offers dedicated gallery space for the permanent collection of over 6,000 works of art and houses an expanded education center, restaurant, gallery shop and 150-seat theater.   • Silverado Resort in Napa Valley, Calif., is offering the Perfect Meeting, Perfect Price summer package Sundays through Thursdays through Oct. 31. Available for groups booking 10 or more rooms, the package includes overnight accommodations in a one-bedroom suite, continental breakfast and lunch each day, two coffee breaks each day, use of a general session room, a 15 percent discount on all audiovisual services and all taxes and service charges. The package also includes discounts on golf, complimentary access to the fitness facility and complimentary tennis on any of the resort’s 17 courts. Unlimited personal Wi-Fi access is also part of the package. The price per night is $265 per person for single occupancy in a one-bedroom suite.   • The all-inclusive Grand Velas Resorts in Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit and Riviera Maya recently introduced meeting packages. Groups with a minimum of 50 rooms can book the Conference Package at the 491-suite Grand Velas Resort Riviera Maya and receive accommodations in a master suite starting at $360 per person, per night, including a waived meeting room rental fee and waived audiovisual equipment fees. The special is offered through Dec. 20. The 267-suite Grand Velas Resort Riviera Nayarit offers a Deluxe Package valid for any new bookings through Dec. 21. The package offers all-inclusive rates for a minimum of 10 rooms starting at $305 per person, per night, as well as extras such as waived welcome and farewell set-up fees, a VIP welcome amenity per every 20 suites, 10 percent off audiovisual equipment, a 10 percent discount at the spa and a special golf green fee of $129 at the Vista Vallarta and Marina Vallarta golf courses.   • The W San Francisco recently earned the first LEED certification of an existing building belonging to a major hotel brand. With its Silver LEED certification, the property becomes the seventh hotel in the U.S. to receive the recognition for an existing building.
