Air Jamaica will continue its current operations under a contractual arrangement with Caribbean Airlines, effective May 1.
There will be no disruption of service, as all tickets previously issued to passengers will be honored.
Under the deal’s terms, Caribbean Airlines will assume full financial responsibility for Air Jamaica. The Jamaican government will have a 16 percent ownership in Caribbean Airlines.
Routes will continue from New York to Montego Bay; New York to Kingston; Baltimore to Montego Bay; Philadelphia to Montego Bay; Toronto to Kingston; Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Montego Bay; and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Kingston. Any changes to that schedule would be announced by Caribbean Airlines.
