Ontario

  • Doubletree Hotel Ontario Airport (909.937.0900) completed a $20 million renovation in late 2009. The jewel of the initiative is the outdoor courtyard surrounding the hotel’s pool, which has been upgraded at a cost of about $5 million into a multifunctional area. The property has more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space.
  • A 175-room Embassy Suites (909.390.7192) will open this fall with 4,000 square feet of meeting space.

San Bernardino

  • In October 2009, a Hilton Garden Inn (909.806.4040 ) opened with 115 guest rooms and 2,600 square feet of meeting space.

Riverside

  • The Riverside Convention Center (951.222.4700) reopened in 2009 following a $12 million renovation. It now offers 15 rooms and over 45,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, and can accommodate up to 2,000.
  • Last December, the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa (951.784.0300) opened 54º, a wine and tapas bar, to accompany the existing Duane’s Prime Steaks & Seafood. The venue combines a menu of light bites with state-of-the-art wine preservation and serving equipment.
  • After a $35 million renovation, the Fox Performing Arts Center (951.779.9804) reopened in January 2010 with two Sheryl Crow concerts and has continued to host national acts such as Natalie Cole and Gladys Knight. The 1928 Mission Revival theater seats 1,640.

Big Bear Lake

  • Bear Creek Resort (877.428.9335) recently renovated all of its cabins. The units now feature new kitchens with granite countertops and sleep from two to 16 people.
  • Bay Meadows Resort (909.866.4666) reopened in 2009 after a full renovation of its 10 cottages and six guest rooms to include amenities such as in-room Jacuzzis.
