  • The 60-acre North Beach Plantation (800.615.3598) recently opened in North Myrtle Beach. It features 750 oceanfront condo-hotel rooms, along with upscale boutique shopping, fine dining and the Cinzia Spa and Wellness Center.
  • Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation (843.449.0006) recently completed renovations that included upgrades to its 255 guest rooms, meeting and conference rooms, lobby and two restaurants: Fisheye Grill and Omaha Steakhouse. Exterior improvements included painting and landscaping. The 145-acre Kingston Plantation collection offers more than 1,100 guest rooms.
  • Live Oak at Springmaid Beach (843.315.7100) recently upgraded its 238 guest rooms with flat-screen TVs, custom paint, artwork and new shower and bath amenities. The resort features a 35,000-square-foot conference center.
  • Radical Ropes Adventure Park (843.626.7444) recently opened as a unique team-building experience in two extreme activities: a five-acre zip-line course set 50 feet high in the forest and a traditional high ropes course.
  • Wonderworks Science Center, a hands-on science attraction, is slated to open in spring 2011. The venue will be located at Broadway at the Beach and will include attractions such as an upside-down building, a volcano, a lighthouse, a NASA space shuttle and fighter jet experience, and an Egyptian pyramid. With almost 40,000 square feet of space, Wonderworks will offer several private event options.
  • Spirit Airlines (800.772.7117) recently began daily nonstop flights between Myrtle Beach and Atlanta. The seasonal flights will end Nov. 10, 2010, and resume in spring 2011.
