What are three unique ways for business groups to enjoy Wilmington and the Brandywine Valley?
- Riverboat Queen: Riverboat Queen is a double-deck paddle wheel boat that launches from the Wilmington Riverfront and sails along the Christina River. Groups may do dinner cruises for up to 120 as well as public cruises. Cruisers enjoy the passing view of the city’s riverfront and watching the drawbridge operate. The company offers full-service event planning, including food, alcohol and DJ services. All-you-can-eat crab cruises are popular for casual summertime fun—a great way to get people out after a day in meeting rooms.
- Longwood Gardens: Longwood Gardens is one of the most spectacular gardens in the world and is one of the valley’s du Pont legacy attractions. With over 1,000 acres of indoor and outdoor gardens, there is beauty along every pathway and several venues for private events. Our favorites include the fountain area and conservatory for dinners. Both are fabulous. Also, there’s an adjoining ballroom to the conservatory that can be used for dinner. It has beautiful dark wood paneling and crystal chandeliers—very clubbish. You can have up to 200 people in there year-round.
- Domaine Hudson: Domaine Hudson downtown is a small wine bar that is intimate and elegant. The chef was born in Morocco and grew up in France, so he does cuisine with an international flair from both Europe and Africa, including large and small plates. A variety of wines and craft beers of both imported and domestic origins are paired with the cuisine. Domaine Hudson is near the major downtown hotels and will accommodate 50 in a buyout. Or the back room can hold up to 12—great for a small board dinner.
