South Bend/Mishawaka

  • South Bend’s Century Center (574.235.9711) completed an expansion and renovated its park space last spring. The new Discovery Ballroom, which boasts 30-foot ceilings, chandeliers and an outdoor terrace, can host events as large as 1,000. Island Park, an adjacent 11-acre green space located on the St. Joseph River and available for events as large as 400, underwent a renovation project. The center offers a total of 75,000 square feet of convention space.
  • University of Notre Dame Conference Center (574.631.6691) recently completed an extensive renovation of its 40,000 square feet of meeting space. There are 13 meeting rooms and a 375-seat auditorium.
  • Fairfield Inn & Suites South Bend at Notre Dame (574.234.5510) is scheduled to open this summer. The property will offer 119 guest rooms and 1,000 square feet of meeting space.
  • Ivy Court Inn and Suites (317.577.8888) in South Bend recently underwent a complete renovation. The exterior, guest rooms and hallways were upgraded. The property has meeting space for 45 people.
  • The 96-unit Staybridge Suites South Bend-University Area (877.238.8889) will open in August on the north side of South Bend.

Upper Northwest

  • Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza (219.769.6311) in Merrillville recently underwent a $10 million renovation. The property has 343 guest rooms, 30,000 square feet of meeting space and a 3,400-seat theater.

Fort Wayne

  • Courtyard Fort Wayne Downtown at Grand Wayne Convention Center(260.490.3629) is set to open in September. The 250-room property will offer 6,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service restaurant and an extensive fitness center. It is connected to the Grand Wayne Convention Center via skywalk.
  • Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo (260.427.6800) recently expanded to add the $9 million African Journey. The new 20-acre exhibit takes visitors on safari to the African plains to see lions, zebras, wildebeests, ostriches and more.
  • The former City Light & Power Plant Science Central recently finished a $9.2 million transformation and is now named Science Central (260.424.2400). The 32,000-square-foot facility provides hands-on science education for visitors of all ages.
