Ontario
Doubletree Hotel Ontario Airport (909.937.0900) completed a $20 million renovation in late 2009. The jewel of the initiative is the outdoor courtyard surrounding the hotel’s pool, which has been upgraded at a cost of about $5 million into a multifunctional area. The property has more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space.
A 175-room Embassy Suites (909.390.7192) will open this fall with 4,000 square feet of meeting space.

• The Art Gallery of Alberta recently opened in a new building in the heart of Edmonton’s Arts District. The building increases the exhibition spaces from 16,000 square feet to 30,000 square feet, offers dedicated gallery space for the permanent collection of over 6,000 works of art and houses an expanded education center, restaurant, gallery shop and 150-seat theater.
