Alabama

  • Country Inn & Suites, Montgomery at Chantilly Parkway opened in May. The hotel features an indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness center and meeting space for up to 40 guests. Florida

  • The 133-room Wyndham Garden Hotel Miami South Beach, formerly the Bel Aire South Beach, opened in May. The historic hotel underwent a $5.5 million renovation before joining the Wyndham family; the renovation maintained the hotel’s original Art Deco design and architecture. Each of the guest rooms and suites offers free high-speed wireless Internet access and 32-inch LCD televisions. The property also features gardens surrounding an outdoor pool, a 24-hour fitness facility, two small meeting rooms and a business center with wireless Internet access.   • Orlando’s Rosen Hotels & Resorts is rebranding three of its hotels. This fall, the Quality Inn Plaza and the Rodeway Inn International will become Rosen Inns and the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista will become a Clarion. The Quality Inn Plaza will be named Rosen Inn at Pointe Orlando and will feature 1,020 guest rooms in six high-rise buildings. The new Clarion Inn Lake Buena Vista will feature 640 rooms in four high-rise buildings near Downtown Disney. The 315-room Rodeway Inn International will soon be renamed Rosen Inn, and will be the closest Rosen Inn to Universal Orlando. There are currently no plans to rename the 728-room Quality Inn International. Extensive renovations at each of the four hotels were completed this year. Mississippi

  • The 125-room Courtyard Biloxi North/D’Iberville opened in May, located in the heart of the Gulf Opportunity Zone, created to stimulate economic development post-Hurricane Katrina. The new property is situated within the 150-acre master planned, mixed-use Lakeview Village, which also features entertainment attractions. The five-story property includes a redesigned bistro lobby, lounge, bar, indoor pool and spa, exercise room and business center. It offers a 690-square-foot meeting room. North Carolina

  • Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide recently debuted the Aloft Chapel Hill. The hotel offers 130 loft-like rooms, 1,600 square feet of meeting space, and is adjacent to the University of North Carolina campus. Each guest room features a plug-and-play connectivity station that links to a 42-inch LCD television.
