As part of a $100 million expansion, Atlantis Casino Resort Spa (775.825.4700) recently unveiled chic, newly redesigned rooms and Reno’s only Concierge Tower.
The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino (775.789.2000) completed a $90 million transformation. Suites were remodeled as part of the project, complete with leather and suede furniture, flat-screen televisions and floor-to-ceiling marble bathrooms. The addition also included new fine dining venues, such as Charlie Palmer Steak.
The Peppermill Hotel Casino (775.689.7161) unveiled a new all-suite hotel tower and a 62,000-square-foot ballroom, part of a $400 million expansion and renovation. The new Tuscany hotel tower added 600 rooms to raise the property’s total room count to 1,635.
Reno Aces Baseball Stadium (775.334.4700) recently opened as the city’s new Triple-A arena that anchors a downtown collection of retail, business and entertainment outlets called the Freight House District.
The Legends at Sparks Marina (775.358.3800) is a new premier Outlet Shopping Destination. The center is anchored by Scheels, the world’s largest all-sports store, with 240,000 square feet of space. Features include the Summit lifestyle center, with 70 stores and restaurants, many of which are exclusive shopping and dining options in the Reno-Tahoe region, and a 16-screen Century Theatres complex.
Truckee River Whitewater Park (775.687.7410) in the heart of downtown Reno is one of two new white-water parks in the Reno-Sparks area. It offers adventure in the heart of the casino and arts and culture districts. At a cost of $1.5 million, it has a length of 2,600 feet and is a haven for kayakers, rafters, swimmers and other water enthusiasts, who enjoy class II and III rapids and 11 drop pools. The Sparks facility at Rock Park includes riverbank landscaping, shaded structures, parking and good access for people with disabilities.
Reno-Tahoe International Airport (775.328.6570) recently expanded its air service, adding 17 new flights in the past 18 months. The airport also has new features that streamline the travel experience, including a redesigned ticket lobby and baggage check-in system.
