California

  • Joie de Vivre will be adding a fifth Southern California property to its collection this fall with the newly renovated Pacific Edge Hotel, a boutique property situated in the heart of Laguna Beach. The 132-room property's new design will embrace the surf culture of Southern California with surf-inspired artwork. The hotel will feature 28 suites as well as a 4,000-square-foot villa and a two-story cottage, both open for event space. The property will also include a spa and a surf lounge for private events. Groups will also be able to use The Deck, a bar located on a 3,000-square-foot beachfront deck, and five surf-themed cabanas, each offering private concierge service. Mexico

  • The 21-room Las Villas Hotel & Spa debuted in Mazatlan at the Estrella del Mar Resort, 10 minutes from the Mazatlan International Airport. The property includes four signature restaurants, a new spa and a golf course among other amenities. The resort offers two meeting rooms for corporate meetings and retreats, each with Wi-Fi access.   • Taheima Wellness Resort & Spa recently opened in Riviera Nayarit on Mexico's Pacific Coast. The all-inclusive boutique resort provides 135 suites, including a two-story penthouse suite. All suites offer Wi-Fi access, and personal butler service is available on each floor. Amenities include infinity pools and whirlpools, 24-hour access to a workout facility and a dance studio. A 22,000-square-foot rooftop spa will be completed by early 2011. The resort also offers 10 meeting rooms, breakout rooms and boardrooms and a ballroom for up to 600.   • The 74-room Hotel Parq Central, located in Albuquerque, will open this fall in the 1926 Memorial Hospital building. The hotel will feature the rooftop Apothecary Bar, serving classic 1920s-themed cocktails.
