- The JW Marriott Chicago is set to debut in September. The hotel—part of a $396 million restoration—will boast 610 guest rooms and more than 44,000 square feet of meeting space, including 34 breakout rooms and two ballrooms measuring 8,500 square feet and 6,000 square feet. Wireless high-speed Internet and videoconferencing capabilities will be available in all rooms. The property will feature a 20,000-square-foot spa, chef-driven restaurant and 29 multiple-bedroom corner suites. - Hilton Hotels reflagged the Rosemont Hotel at O'Hare as Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O'Hare. More than $15 million has been invested in renovations to the property, including the guest rooms, lobby, health club, meeting rooms, conference center, grand ballroom, on-site dining areas and new porte-cochere. The hotel offers 287 guest rooms and 12 suites featuring in-room amenities such as high-definition televisions and Wi-Fi access. - Swissotel Chicago unveiled its 38,000-square-foot Event Centre. The space can accommodate up to 1,400 people. The center includes the 14,000-square-foot Zurich Ballroom. - An 83-room Candlewood Suites is slated to open in Champaign in December. The Candlewood Suites-Champaign originally began construction in fall 2008, but stalled due to lending issues. St. Louis-based Midas Hospitality recently acquired the property. The extended-stay hotel will open near the University of Illinois and will offer complimentary high-speed Internet access.
