Awe-Inspiring Off-Sites

More Coverage

After a long day of meetings, delegates long for fresh air and great views. Thankfully, the cities of Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs offer a healthy dose of both year-round, especially when it comes to off-site locations.
Here are a few refreshing gems that highlight the beauty of the area.

Denver
When it comes to music venues, nothing measures up to Red Rocks (303.697.6047;). Many of the most famous acts in the world, from U2 and Dave Matthews Band to Stevie Nicks and Phish, have recorded blockbuster albums at Red Rocks, thanks to the natural acoustics of the surrounding mountains. Fortunately for meeting planners, Red Rocks isn't just a concert venue. The picturesque location, with views of the surrounding mountains, has space for up to 9,000 people as well as a 30,000-square-foot visitors center.

Groups of all sizes can fit into the expansive Denver Center for Performing Arts (303.572.4466) for an off-site event. The complex includes 10 different theaters and two options overlooking the Rocky Mountains: a 10,000-square-foot ballroom and a grassy area.

Boulder
Those in the mood for fresh air can head up to the summit of Flagstaff Mountain (303.441.3408), a short drive from downtown Boulder, for some alfresco dining. Groups can organize anything from a casual BBQ to a white-tablecloth event, all with views of the mountains.

Built in 1898 as a retreat center, Chautauqua (303.442.3282 ) offers groups a truly unique experience. The 26-acre site boasts unparalleled views of the Flatirons and several meeting options, including the Grand Assembly Hall, Meadows Room, Rocky Mountain Climbers' Club and Missions House.

Colorado Springs
Just an hour south of Colorado Springs in the town of Canon is striking Royal Gorge Bridge and Park (719.275.7507). Soaring 1,053 feet high, the bridge is an incredible sight and groups can take advantage of the views by having an event at The Bighorn Mountain Lodge, located next to the bridge and park. The area offers more than 7,300 square feet of meeting space.

Located on more than 800 acres, Glen Eyrie Castle (719.272.7377) is a historic and scenic place for an event. Built in 1904 as the estate of William Jackson Palmer, one of the founders of Colorado Springs, the property offers expansive outdoor grounds and 19,000 square feet of meeting space.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (719.633.9925) features beautiful views of Colorado Springs as well as 5,200 square feet of meeting space in a variety of venues, one of which is the Lodge at Moose Lake, nestled into the side of Cheyenne Mountain.
