Portland
- In late 2011, the McMenamins company will open the Crystal Hotel (503.492.5457) in a completely renovated, historic 1911 building. The full-service property will have 50 guest rooms, a restaurant with outdoor seating, a heated saltwater soaking pool and spa-like massage rooms, and a subterranean Cellar Bar that will connect with the existing McMenamins-owned Ringlers Annex Pub next door. Located in the Burnside Triangle/West End District, the Crystal takes its inspiration from the nearby McMenamins Crystal Ballroom, a historic live-music venue, and will be a five-minute walk to Portland's downtown city center.
Newberg, Oregon
- In September 2009 the Allison Inn & Spa (503.554.2525) opened as the first luxury resort in Oregon's Willamette Valley wine region, about 45 minutes from Portland. This 35-acre property enjoys views of surrounding vineyards as well as access to roughly 200 wineries in the surrounding area, and has an on-site restaurant, Jory, that emphasizes fresh ingredients. The Allison has 85 guest rooms and a 15,000-square-foot spa with 12 treatment rooms, plus patios and fire pits for outdoor relaxation. In April 2010, the property's construction, solar panels and green policies helped it to achieve Gold LEED certification, making it one of just two dozen U.S. hotels to do so.
Vancouver, Wash.
- In fall 2009, Heathman Lodge (360.254.3100) added 40 more deluxe king rooms to bring its total guest room count to 183. In addition, the property added the Fort Vancouver Ballroom, a 3,800-square-foot space that can be subdivided into the General Grant and General Howard ballrooms.
