B Hotels and Resorts, a new hotel company that calls itself “an innovative brand alternative for the conversion of existing flagged and independent hotels,” recently debuted.
Announcing plans to open its first property in December, the Florida-based company said it is looking at conversion opportunities in both urban and resort locations in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.
The company’s first property, a former Holiday Inn, will be the B Ocean Fort Lauderdale, a beachfront property in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., with 240 rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space.
According to Corporate Vice President Christopher Tompkins, “B is a fresh, innovative and unpretentious class of hotels in the upper-upscale category that welcome today’s travelers by igniting a genuine emotional connection to the brand.”
Among the consistent features planned for the hotels are complimentary Internet access, spas and fitness centers, communal tables and seating in the dining and public areas and restaurants offering fresh and organic menu selections.
