The JW Marriott Marquis Miami is slated to open in October in downtown Miami’s new Metropolitan Miami development, dubbed "The Met." The hotel will have 313 guest rooms and the area’s largest ballroom. Amenities will include a spa, golf school, fitness center, billiard room, virtual bowling, media room and a 10,000-square-foot NBA-approved basketball arena. The arena is one of the components of a 50,000-square-foot sports, lifestyle and entertainment complex that will debut with the October opening of the hotel. The Peabody Orlando recently completed an expansion that included the addition of a 35-story tower with 750 guest rooms, 150,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and a spa. - Gatlinburg’s Park Vista is now the Park Vista-A Doubletree Hotel-Gatlinburg. Prior to becoming a Doubletree, the hotel completed an $11 million renovation project, including upgrades to the guest rooms and meeting and event space. The hotel now features 276 guest rooms and 24 king and family suites, all offering high-speed Internet access. The hotel’s conference center offers more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space. A $10 million renovation for the Le Meridien Dallas North was completed in August. The 11-story, 258-room atrium hotel was transformed, including the lounge, check-in areas and business center.
