  • The Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center opened its new Lonesome Dove Room (210.207.8500; www.sanantonio.gov) event space in 2010. Accommodating 150 to 500 guests, the Texas ranch-style space opens onto an elevated outdoor patio by the River Walk waterfall. Also part of the convention center complex, the 2,500-plus seat Lila Cockrell Theatre (210.207.8500) will reopen in late 2010 following a $26 million refurbishment.
  • The Alamodome's versatile new Illusions Theater (210.207.3663) is slated to open this fall. It will accommodate groups from 3,500 to 11,000.
  • The upscale, 285-suite Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk (210.226.9000) is scheduled to open this month with meeting space that includes a grand ballroom.
  • The Culinary Institute of America's (210.222.1113) new 30,000-square-foot campus will open this month at the historic Pearl Brewery complex.
  • Slated for a spring 2011 opening, the Briscoe Western Art Museum (210.299.4499) will add a new dimension to San Antonio's downtown art scene along with upscale meeting space.
  • In June 2011, the historic 5,000-seat Municipal Auditorium (210.207.8500) will close to begin its transformation into the 1,800-seat Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. Envisioned as the anchor of a new Performing Arts District, the center is scheduled to open in 2013.
  • With the Museum Reach extension of the San Antonio River Walk (210.227.4262) complete, work is under way on the Mission Reach extension. Connecting four of the city's five Spanish Colonial missions and lengthening River Walk to over 13 miles, the project is slated for completion in 2013. Included in Museum Reach is the San Antonio Museum of Art's (210.978.8100) expansive new riverside patio, accommodating up to 300 people for events.
  • San Antonio International Airport (210.207.3411 ) is set to open its new eight-gate Terminal B in November. A new terminal C is on hold until 2012.
