Happenings – Portland
In late 2011, the McMenamins company will open the Crystal Hotel (503.492.5457) in a completely renovated, historic 1911 building. The full-service property will have 50 guest rooms, a restaurant with outdoor seating, a heated saltwater soaking pool and spa-like massage rooms, and a subterranean Cellar Bar that will connect with the existing McMenamins-owned Ringlers Annex Pub next door. Located in the Burnside Triangle/West End District, the Crystal takes its inspiration from the nearby McMenamins Crystal Ballroom, a historic live-music venue, and will be a five-minute walk to Portland's downtown city center.
