The Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station in Indianapolis will build a $400,000 enclosed walkway over Capitol Avenue to the newly expanded Indiana Convention Center. The hotel also will build an outdoor patio next to the connector that can be used for group functions. Construction on the walkway and patio will start in November and be completed in January. - Pebblebrook Hotel Trust recently acquired The Grand Hotel Minneapolis for $33 million. The 140-room hotel, featuring the 58,000-square-foot Life Time Athletic Club and Life Spa, is located in downtown Minneapolis. The hotel will be managed by Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants and features 140 guest rooms, including 21 suites and a 3,500-square-foot presidential suite. The property has over 6,500 square feet of flexible meeting space as well as a lounge and business center. The company plans to invest approximately $4.5 million over the next 12 to 24 months in a refurbishment of guest rooms, the lobby and other various public area improvements.
