Happenings - Colorado Mountain Resorts

Aspen

  • Walter Paepcke Memorial Building reopened in August 2010 following a $10 million auditorium expansion and renovation. The property is located on the Aspen Meadows Resort (970.925.4240; ) campus of the Aspen Institute along with the LEED Gold-certified Doerr-Hosier Center.  
  • Limelight Lodge (970.925.3025) finished a complete renovation in 2009. Further improvements to the lobby and dining areas are planned for 2011.
  • Over the past 18 months, Hotel Aspen (970.925.3441) has completed a major facelift. Improvements include renovations to guest rooms, exterior and pool area as well as the installation of energy-efficient components.

Snowmass

  • The $200 million Viceroy Snowmass (970.923.8000) opened last year with 173 guest rooms, 8,000 square feet of flexible conference space and a 7,000-square-foot spa.
  • Silvertree Hotel & Conference Center (970.923.3520) will be kicking off a major renovation project in the coming months.
  • Capital Peak and Hayden Lodge (970.923.2000) recently added 300 new condominiums and more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space. 

Vail/Beaver Creek

  • The 121-room Four Seasons Resort Vail (416.445.5031) is set to open in late 2010. The $200 million luxury development will offer more than 11,000 square feet of meeting space and a spa.
  • Manor Vail Lodge (970.476.5000) recently completed a remodel and expansion project.

Steamboat Springs

  • Sheraton Steamboat Resort (970.879.2220) recently finished a $20 million renovation to its guest rooms, lobby, restaurant and lounge.

Telluride

  • Capella Telluride (970.369.0880) opened last year with 89 guest rooms, 11 condos and 9,000 square feet of meeting space.
  • The 168-room Peaks Resort & Spa is now under the management of Grand Heritage Resort Group and is undergoing a complete renovation.
