  • One Atlantic (609.343.9902), a 10,000-square-foot event center on top of The Pier Shops at Caesars, opened early this year. The space provides sweeping views of the ocean and Atlantic City Boardwalk from floor-to-ceiling glass windows on three sides, plus an outdoor terrace. It is a popular spot for off-site receptions, dinners and other events.
  • At press time, phase three of Atlantic City Outlets-The Walk (609.872.7002) was slated for completion in December or early 2011.The $15 million addition will add up to 20 new stores. Phase four, an indoor nightlife complex called Atlantic City Live, is in the planning stages.
  • The Claridge Tower at Bally's Atlantic City (609.340.2000) recently completed a $1.5 million renovation of all 500 guest rooms, as well as public spaces and the historic exterior. Additionally, Bally's Wild Wild West Casino has undergone renovations, including the addition of the Main Stage live entertainment venue between Caesars and Bally's, featuring free concerts, a beer bar and a Wild About Wings restaurant.
  • At Harrah's Resort Atlantic City (609.441.5000), the mezzanine at The Pool underwent a $1 million transition last winter to become The Loft at Harrah's. The Loft encompasses the deck with a double-sided bar serving patrons inside year-round and outside when weather permits. Viking Cooking School also recently debuted at the property, offering an interactive cooking experience for groups.
  • Atlantic City Hilton (609.347.7111) recently redesigned its dining floor and opened four new restaurants, two of which offer ocean views.  
  • Tropicana Atlantic City (609.340.4000) recently opened FIN seafood restaurant, which offers groups indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the beach and the Boardwalk.
  • Atlantic City International Airport (609.645.7895) added more flights this year. Spirit Airlines began service from Detroit in May, operating seasonally through October. Spirit will add service from Chicago to Atlantic City in spring 2011. Spirit also recently introduced service from Boston, and AirTran began service between its Atlanta hub and Atlantic City.
