"Oregon's arts scene is one of the liveliest in the nation," says Christine D'Arcy, executive director at the Oregon Arts Commission-Cultural Trust, citing the Portland area as home to thousands of creatives—architects, designers, artists and writers—and Ashland as the base of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the largest regional theater company in the country. "About 20,000 artists make their home in Oregon, contributing to our creative vitality."

When Odyssey Teams created Habitat for Hounds about a decade ago, CSR (corporate social responsibility) was barely a blip on the corporate radar screen. Fashioned as a spinoff of Habitat for Humanity, meeting attendees built dog houses and auctioned them off, with proceeds going to a local SPCA.
The activity drew rave reviews from attendees as both a training simulation and way to benefit the local community.

The 15-story, 276-room property, formerly known as Albuquerque Grand Airport, completed a seven-month, $14 million renovation in preparation for its re-flagging as a Sheraton.
