Toronto
- Donald Trump's first Canadian venture, the 60-story, mixed-use Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto(416.214.2800), is slated to open early this year. The hotel portion includes 261 rooms and suites and two floors of function space.
- Scheduled to open in February, The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto (416.585.2500) will be the brand's first Canadian property, featuring 267 rooms, 159 condominium residences and function space including the city's largest luxury ballroom, at 7,400 square feet.
- The 167-room Hotel Le Germain Maple Leaf Square (416.649.7575) debuted in November with contemporary meeting space.
- Following an $18 million renovation, Holiday Inn Toronto Downtown Centre (416.977.6655), with 514 guest rooms and suites and over 9,000 square feet of function space, is taking reservations for arrivals after Feb. 19.
- Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel(416.361.1000) recently added a new ballroom and exhibit hall with more than 100,000 square feet of function space.
- Occupying an entire city block and encompassing over 153,000 square feet of multiuse space, TIFF Bell Lightbox (416.599.8433), the new $140 million home of the Toronto International Film Festival, opened in September.
Niagara Falls
- On target for an April opening, the 280,000-square-foot, LEED Silver-designed Scotiabank Convention Centre (905.357.6222) will be the largest meeting and event venue in the entire Niagara region.
- The former Quality Inn will become the Holiday Inn & Suites Parkway Convention Centre (905.688.2324) in April following an $8 million renovation.
Ottawa
- Opening in April, the new Ottawa Convention Centre (613.563.1984) will have 192,000 square feet of usable space, including 28 meeting rooms, a 56,000-square-foot multipurpose hall and a 21,300-square-foot ballroom.
