Museums
- In commemoration of the centennial of Tennessee Williams' birth, The Historic New Orleans Collection and the Al Hirschfeld Foundation have collaborated to present Drawn to Life: Al Hirschfeld and the Theater of Tennessee Williams. The exhibition and companion publication bring together highlights from the collection's permanent holdings and dozens of drawings by the legendary artist, who was the foremost chronicler of Williams' productions for six decades. Tech Update
- Aloft recently partnered with Foursquare, the mobile app and website that allows users to check in online at different venues, broadcast their location with friends on sites like Twitter and Facebook, and access insider tips on the places they visit. On Foursquare's site, Aloft's tips page features branded tips on destinations, along with exclusive promotions at Aloft's w xyz bars across the country.

- The Naples, Marco Island, Everglades CVB launched a new online service to help meeting planners boost attendance at events. The service, called GAP (Group Attendance Push), offers planners a selection of tools, including a customizable e-mail template and banner ad that lets them input specific event information and details. With these templates, planners can send dynamic e-mail blasts and post ads to their websites. Planners can also request text, videos and images to create their own promotional materials. - Hot Springs, Va.'s The Homestead is offering the Meet and Give Back in 2011 program, which provides corporate groups the opportunity to donate 5 percent of guest room revenue from meetings to a 501 (c)(3) designated charity of their choice. The donation will be paid on room revenue up to $5,000 per group. The resort also launched new team-building activities, including a ropes course, scavenger hunt, catapult-building contest, fire-building challenge and more.
