For some groups, it might not be enough to catch a local performance or visit a museum; they want to roll up their sleeves and get creative. Painting With a Twist in St. Petersburg can provide that creative outlet, inviting attendees to craft their own masterpiece while having a blast at the same time.
"They provide the canvas, the smocks and all of the paints, and they have an artist come in to instruct," explains D.T. Minich, executive director of Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater. "You come out in two or three hours with a canvas of completed artwork."
It’s all very informal and fun—in fact, people are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine along—and Minich says groups who’ve experienced it have given rave reviews.
"We had a couple of people who were hemming and hawing, saying, ‘I can’t draw,’ but once they had a glass of wine in them, they had a ball and just absolutely loved it," he says.
