- On May 7, Vancouver's Rosewood Hotel Georgia will open its doors, exactly 84 years to the day after the original Hotel Georgia first opened in 1927. The newly renovated property will feature 155 rooms and suites, and will offer a spa, a fitness center and an indoor salt water lap pool. - Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa launched an extensive $13 million resort-wide renovation. The renovation began in January and is slated for completion in September. The transformation of the Waikiki Beach Hyatt includes the complete renovation of the resort's third-floor public areas and the introduction of two new restaurants, a poolside lounge and bar, an upgraded pool deck and a new Regency Club product, which will offer guests an indoor/outdoor seating overlooking Waikiki Beach. - Grand Solmar Land's End Resort & Spa in Los Cabos is opening in two phases. Phase 1 of the resort debuted in February with 119 suites, each of which offers views of the Pacific and Sea of Cortes. - The Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower on the Las Vegas Strip recently took the wraps off a renovation worth more than $20 million. The centerpiece is an overhaul of 909 guest rooms, dubbed Stratosphere Select. In addition, Roxy's Diner, a longtime guest favorite, was expanded to include patio seating. While major renovations are complete, finishing touches on the property will continue throughout the year. The Stratosphere's transformation began in April with SkyJump Las Vegas, which provides a free fall from the 108th floor of the Stratosphere Tower, 855 feet above the Las Vegas Strip.
