Baltimore
- Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Baltimore (800.819.5053) is scheduled to open late 2011 in the Harbor East neighborhood. The 18-story, 256-room luxury hotel will be located on the waterfront next to the Marriott Waterfront Hotel.
- The Baltimore Convention Center (410.649.7000) continues efforts to become LEED-certified with the transformation of the center's 12,250-square-foot outdoor terrace into a "green roof." Half the space will be vegetative roofing with the remainder containing features that will capture rainwater and return a portion back into the atmosphere.
- At press time, Tremont Plaza Hotel (410.727.2222) in Baltimore was scheduled to finish a $6 million renovation in February. Included is the upgrade of 65 suites from queens to kings. Coming in March is The Tremont Plaza Cloud Nine Bedding Collection.
- Fort McHenry (410.962.4290) will open a new visitor center March 3. It will house interactive exhibits and an audiovisual presentation on multiple screens. The opening date marks the anniversary of the day the Star Spangled Banner became America's National Anthem.
- Charm City Circulator (410.350.0456) is downtown Baltimore's new shuttle bus system. Attendees can use the new hybrid buses to get around town. The service is free and follows routes that connect many major hotels and attractions.
Eastern Shore
- The Tidewater Inn (410.822.1300) in Easton recently finished an extensive renovation on its public spaces, including the Grand Gold Ballroom, which now has 2,950 square feet of space and a capacity for 375 at a reception. The Outdoor Garden off the Crystal Room offers outdoor breakout space or outdoor meeting space and dining options.
- Harbourtowne Golf Resort & Conference Center (410.745.9066) in St. Michaels recently completed a renovation of its public areas, including the lobby. The 111-room resort's landscape marries the pristine shoreline with the natural beauty of the bay and outdoor venue spaces for meetings and special events. Many groups opt for outdoor crab feasts on the property, which features an 18-hole, Pete Dye-designed golf course.
- The Inn at Perry Cabin (410.745.2200) in St. Michaels, Maryland's only hotel on the Travel and Leisure World's Best 500 Hotels list, has a new executive chef: Greg Brandberg. His credentials include Steven Starr's famed Morimoto in Philadelphia, where he was responsible for kitchen operations for Iron Chef Morimoto's signature restaurant.
- The Roland E. Powell Convention Center (410.289.2800) in Ocean City is renovating and expanding its ballroom. Scheduled for completion in fall 2012, the project will also bring another 14,000 square feet of exhibit space underneath the former loading dock area.
