  • This July, Cirque du Soleil will establish a permanent home in Hollywood at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. The new show, Iris, will be based on Hollywood’s impact on the history of cinema and will involve a cast of 72 performers bringing together dance, acrobatics, live video, filmed sequences and animation to re-create the history of cinema for audiences.   • The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, located between Phoenix and Tucson, is introducing a new menu of team-building activities. Options include the Chili, Salsa and Guacamole Challenges, in which groups race against the clock to design and present two different creations. Glow Golf pairs attendees for glow putting and chipping challenges.   • The Tri-Valley, California CVB is offering its "Try Our Valley" group incentive program. The limited-time program offers cash back per booked room night for groups of 50 or more, with a maximum payout of $10 per room night for 500 rooms, or $5,000. Groups that book their event by June 30 will be entered into a drawing to win an additional cash prize of $5,000, to be drawn July 1. In order to qualify for the program, the group or meeting must generate a new proposal, originated through the Tri-Valley CVB for distribution to multiple properties.   • The Monterey County CVB recently appointed John Ehlenfeldt, CMP, regional director of sales. Ehlenfeldt will be responsible for driving the bureau’s group sales efforts in the Southern California and Southwest markets.
