Los Angeles and London

I’m a strong believer in professional association involvement, and have served as a past president of Meeting Professionals International's Southern California Chapter (MPISCC) and a past board member of the Southern California Society of Association Executives (SCSAE). I also currently serve as a member of the Meetings Focus editorial advisory board, and as an industry speaker, trainer and panelist, am frequently invited to facilitate industry forums and address organizations—including MPI chapters, convention and visitors bureaus, colleges and universities, sales forces and allied industry associations.

Most unusual aspect of your job: That’s a tough one. But since we work with clients that range from medical associations, to financial industry publications, to clients that would traditionally be considered suppliers in the industry (but they hire us for our planning expertise), I’d have to say that our diversity is the most unusual aspect of our job – it’s not unusual for us to send out a lead for a meeting through the same person that’s also our client in some cases – so I guess that’s a bit out of the norm.

Favorite book: The entire Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer.

Favorite food: Mexican (the real stuff, not the chains)

Favorite TV show: The Vampire Diaries

Favorite movie: Eclipse

(I see a scary pattern here)

Most unique place you’ve been: Bali – like going to another world

Favorite aspect of the meetings/travel industry: The diversity – no two days (or meetings) are ever the same

Pet peeve: People who consider bad planning on their part to be an emergency on mine

One thing about you that most people don’t know: I am fluent in 6 versions of the English language

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received in our industry? Be yourself

What’s your favorite local/regional place to take a visitor to your area? San Diego

Is there anything else you’d like to add that we’ve overlooked? Pretty much covered it above
