Gateway not only to the Palm Beaches but the Treasure Coast as well,
Palm Beach International Airport has added new service—and services—to make arrivals and departures go more smoothly.
Debuting last fall were new flights on Direct Air from Niagara Falls/Buffalo, Worcester, Mass., Rockford/Chicago (Ill.) and Kalamazoo/Battle Creek (Mich.).
Meanwhile, on the ground, the airport has unveiled a new group departure lounge, offering complimentary continental breakfast for groups leaving Palm Beach.
"We’ve reached out to the airport to help us close more group business," says Steve Crist, vice president of destination sales for the Palm Beach County CVB. "In addition to the new departure lounge, the airport’s director of airlift development can provide flight information and one-on-one assistance to meeting planners."
The airport itself recently underwent an $8 million renovation, keeping waiting travelers entertained with mini golf and other diversions. But the facility’s major draw might be its centralized location, three minutes from the convention center district and 15 minutes from the beach.
"That’s one thing we communicate to planners: Look how much more stress-free and easy our airport is," Crist says.
