Our meetings industry trade show coverage continues with this version of Meetings in a Minute, for which we traveled to Las Vegas for PCMA's Annual Meeting as well as the Green Meeting Industry Council's annual conference in Portland, Ore. At PCMA we caught up with Bonnie Wallsh, chief strategist of Bonnie Wallsh associates and a regular on the meetings education circuit. Wallsh advises planners to know the dollar value of their group before sitting down at the bargaining table. Also, editor Marlene Goldman attended the Green Meeting Industry Council's annual Sustainable Meetings Conference, where she heard from Jim Clapes, manager of Greenbuild Conference & Events, who reminds us that no matter what size your meeting is, it still can include a corporate social responsibility element.
