Over 800 vendors across North America are featured in the app. Foodies can sort meals by breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks and can browse local areas with an interactive Google-based map. The Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel, Ill., recently implemented a number of practices to reduce its carbon footprint. In the kitchen, 90 percent of all food for room service and conventions, as well as its high-end steakhouse Sam & Harry's, uses local and organic ingredients. The hotel recycles all its materials and has gone paperless for both internal and guest communications. The front desk staff utilizes iPads to give guests more information regarding their room upon check-in, and the Renaissance brand has recently implemented a mobile Navigator application, allowing guests to explore the neighborhood around their select hotel from their smartphone. Water is offered in coolers as opposed to individual plastic bottles. For more information, call 847.303.4100.
