Hotel Profits Rose in 2010

After two years of declining profits, U.S. hotels enjoyed a 9.8 percent bottom line increase in 2010, according to a new report from PKF Hospitality Research.

The report also noted that the gain does not make up for the 37.9 percent cumulative losses that hotels suffered during 2008 and 2009.

Hotels in the top tier categories showed the most gains in profitability, with upper-upscale and luxury hotels with an ADR (average daily rate) above $200 enjoying a strong 33 percent growth in profit.
