Washington Dulles Airport Marriott Wraps Up Renovations
The Washington Dulles Airport Marriott Hotel finalized a $9.3 million renovation that began in 2007 and has resulted in numerous improvements to the property. Each of the 368 guest rooms have undergone refurbishment, with the front desk area and lobby redesigned as well. The ballroom and meeting spaces have also been updated, including the addition of the Dulles View event space, and a new restaurant has also been launched—Aviate Bar & Grill.

Birmingham Zoo Exhibit: The "Trails of Africa" at the Birmingham Zoo opened in April. The exhibit is attracting international attention. It's developed over 14 acres, and the trails make up a mixed-species exhibit with a variety of animals native to the continent. The exhibit's primary attraction, an innovative development in global conservation, is a herd of African bull elephants.
