Florida
- Visit Jacksonville hired Dennis Tracy as senior vice president of destination sales and marketing. Tracy will oversee the expansion of the city's efforts in securing citywide convention business, among other tasks. He comes to Visit Jacksonville from the Little Rock (Ark.) CVB, where he served as director of sales and marketing for four years.
- The InterContinental Tampa recently named Matt Kido executive meeting manager. Kido is responsible for all groups with 20 or less rooms. He most recently worked as a convention service manager at the Crowne Plaza Tampa East.
- Conrad Miami named Philippe Thevenet director of sales and marketing. Thevenet previously worked as director of sales and marketing at the Conrad Indianapolis, Ind.
- Miami's Doral Golf Resort & Spa, A Marriott Resort, named Chris Bracken director of sales and marketing. Bracken most recently served as director of sales and marketing for the Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club in Redondo Beach, Calif.
- Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort announced the appointment of Brigette Bienvenu as director of sales and marketing. Most recently, she served as director of sales and marketing at the Doubletree by Hilton Grand Biscayne Bay in Miami.
Louisiana
- Fred Sawyers was hired as complex general manager of the Doubletree by Hilton New Orleans in addition to his current responsibilities as general manager of the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Prior to New Orleans, Sawyers managed the Hilton Portland & Executive Tower in Portland, Ore. North Carolina
- Carol Queen was hired as director of sales of the Gastonia Conference Center, scheduled to open this fall. Queen is a 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry with a concentration on event planning as well as food and beverage, most notably as director of catering with Sheraton Hotels & Resorts and Embassy Suites Hotels in Charlotte.
Tennessee
- Jeff Hollis was named general manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites Chattanooga Downtown. Hollis previously served as assistant general manager for the Hilton Garden Inn Chattanooga Hamilton Place.
Texas
- Robert McPherrin was appointed director of sales and marketing of the Hilton Anatole. McPherrin has over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, including 20 years in hospitality sales. He previously served as assistant executive director at the Grapevine CVB.
