Idaho
Boise

  • The Holiday Inn Boise Airport changed its name to the Boise Hotel & Conference Center (208.343.4900; www.theboisehotel.com) earlier this year. Last year, the property completed upgrades to its guest rooms, conference center, restaurant and sports bar.

Coeur d'Alene

  • Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel (800.523.2464; www.cdacasino.com) completed an $85 million upgrade in May, including two new hotel wings with 98 guest rooms and a spa.

  • At press time, the Coeur d'Alene Resort (208.765.4000; www.cdaresort.com) was on track to open the 11,000-square-foot Hagadone Events Center on the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene July 1. In addition to the indoor meeting space, the center features 6,000 square feet of deck space overlooking the lake, and a new swimming pool will also be installed.

Montana
Billings

  • The Billings Hotel and Convention Center (406.248.7151; www.billingshotel.net) finished a renovation earlier this year. The project included upgrades to guest rooms and meeting space.

  • Bighorn Resort (406.839.9300; www.thebighornresort.com), formerly a Wingate by Wyndham property, recently changed flags. The property also opened a new lounge in January.

Big Sky

  • 320 Guest Ranch (406.995.4283; www.320ranch.com) plans to finish a renovation of its 58 guest cabins this month and open a business center with three rooms of meeting space in October.

Missoula Area

  • This fall, The Resort at Paws Up (800.473.0601; www.pawsup.com) in Greenough will open the 5,000-square-foot Bull Barn Conference Center, a conversion of the property's historic Bull Barn cattle operation facility. The property also unveiled two new luxury tented camps in June: Pinnacle Camp, featuring six tent-suites with en-suite master bathrooms and jetted tubs, and the adults-only Moonlight Camp, equipped with six high-end tent units. Each camp boasts upscale furnishings, amenities and services, including camping butlers.

Whitefish

  • The 145-room Grouse Mountain Lodge (406.862.3000; www.grousemountainlodge.com) in Whitefish was recently purchased by Glacier Park Inc. Under the new ownership, a renovation of the lobby, lounge, restaurant, gift shop and concierge desk was completed in May.

Cody

  • The 70-room Best Western Ivy is set to open in July with meeting space for up to 150 people, a swimming pool and a full-service restaurant.
