WOW! Las Vegas

Penn and Teller - Masters of Illusion

By TYLER DAVIDSON

Las Vegas is a town made for showmen and those who crave life lived as an illusion, if only for a long weekend.
After all, the whole place is built in a desert yet boasts massive dancing fountains and canals complete with Venetian gondoliers. It's a place where someone can drop a quarter in a slot and immediately bankroll their whole trip—now that's an illusion!

Event Currents – WOW! Las Vegas

Francine McKanna, DMCP
President, PRA Destination Management Las Vegas

What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in Las Vegas for groups?

Canaletto at the Venetian offers great ambience and is very flexible on space and pricing. We also enjoy showing things off the beaten path that people may not find on their own. A good example is Vintner Grill—a fantastic restaurant off the Strip with indoor and outdoor seating.

What primary services does your DMC provide, and what competitive advantages do you have?

The depth of experience on our team is a competitive advantage. Everyone has been in the DMC business for many years. In addition, we are an ADMC office, which is an industry accreditation in which you must meet certain criteria in order to receive it. I hold a DMCP as well.

Outta Site - WOW! Las Vegas

By TYLER DAVIDSON

You probably know all about the world-class group dining options up and down the Strip, from kitchens run by world-renowned celebrity chefs to sure-bet-brand restaurants conveniently located in major convention-ready properties and ready for a buyout of a hundred. The Las Vegas CVA (www.lcva.com) even boasts that the destination offers up more Master Sommeliers than any other city in the world and more wine sold per capita than in any other destination. Las Vegas = World-Class Food. Got it.

But how about a couple of lesser-known restaurants that are frequented by locals? And while they may not be the best fit for a large group looking for glam and glitz, they could be just the ticket for those who want to venture out to see how Las Vegans live. (For a list of some of the new restaurants that are frequented by groups, venture over to the WOW! Las Vegas story, www.meetingstoday.com, for additional information).
