Branson, Missouri, nestled deep in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks, has long been one of the most exciting and fun-filled family vacation destinations in the country. Today, thanks in large part to the Branson Convention Center, Branson is quickly gaining reputation as a first-class meeting and trade show destination. The Branson Convention Center can accommodate up to 4,500 attendees at a time, offering guests 220,000 gross square feet of space. This includes a 47,000-square-foot exhibit hall, which can be divided in half, and five meeting rooms ranging in size from 1,200 to 1,500 square feet.

Southwest Missouri is a multifaceted region that encompasses Springfield, the state's third-largest city; Branson, which is known as the "Live Music Show Capital of the World" and also features scenic lakes; and Joplin, which made headlines in May when it was hit with one of the most destructive tornadoes in the country's history, yet its tourism infrastructure suffered little damage.

Subterranean Sojourns

Missouri is not only the Show-Me State. It is also known as "The Cave State," a nickname readily seen on license plates.
More than 6,000 caves are recorded and more are found each year. Around 20 are "show" caves open to the public for tours, and the Springfield-Branson area has some of the most well known.
Billed as "America's Only Ride Thru Cave," Fantastic Caverns (417.833.2010; www.fantasticcaverns.com) is eight miles northwest of downtown Springfield.
