Then desktop machines became ubiquitous, and now, with tablets and smartphones dominating the landscape, we are moving toward a post-PC world. Such are the issues that drive discussions in Silicon Valley. It is a culture of constant change.

- San Francisco’s cocktail heritage and bar talent will be toasted with a weeklong celebration this fall during the Fifth Annual San Francisco Cocktail Week, Sept. 19-25. The cocktail week is presented by the Barbary Coast Conservancy of the American Cocktail (BCCAC) and will be held in venues, bars and restaurants throughout the Bay Area.
